This policy explains plainly what Joey collects, how it's used, and what choices you have. If anything is unclear, write to us at itsjoeyapp@gmail.com.
What we collect
When you use Joey, we collect only the data needed to interpret and remember your dreams:
- Dream content. The text of any dream you record or type, the interpretation Joey writes back, mood and symbol metadata extracted from the interpretation, and any follow-up dialogue messages.
- Voice recordings. When you record a dream by voice, the audio is sent to OpenAI's transcription service and converted to text. We do not store the raw audio after transcription completes.
- Profile information. Your name, email, notification preferences, and the personalization answers you provide during onboarding (life season, focus, tone preference, spiritual orientation, current dream behavior, secret hope).
- Usage data. Counts of interpretations and image generations per day, used solely for tier enforcement and basic operational analytics.
We do not collect contacts, location, photos, or device identifiers beyond what's needed for authentication.
How it's used
- Interpretation and personalization. Your dream content and profile context are sent to Anthropic Claude to generate your interpretation, to OpenAI to generate the dream image, and to ElevenLabs to synthesize Joey's voice. These calls happen on our backend over an authenticated session.
- The Codex. Symbols and emotional patterns extracted from your interpretations are stored as your personal Codex, which Joey uses to make future interpretations more attuned to you specifically.
- Service operation. Authentication, subscription state, and tier-based usage counters.
- We do not use your content to train AI models, sell your data, or share it with advertisers.
Where it's stored
Your data is stored on Supabase (Postgres database with row-level security). Each user can only access their own dreams, interpretations, dialogue, and Codex entries. We use industry-standard authentication and encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data in transit.

- Delete your account. From Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete account, you can permanently remove your account and all associated data. This is irreversible.
- Notification preferences. Manage push notification preferences in Settings or your iPhone Settings.
